Registration must be completed by a teacher preferably by Nov 15. You will not be officially registered until the registration fee has been received. Please send the following information to oursafespacesproject@gmail.com to register your students.

1.THE FEE. We have created a fantastic opportunity for all of our students to participate in a world renowned photography festival and exhibit in one of the most alive contemporary art venues in Toronto.  There is no funding for this project so the venue and printing costs must be covered by our entry fees. Each school will be able to keep all of their student's exhibited work after the exhibit.

 SUBMISSION PROCESS-

Submissions will be accepted from January 4th to February 29th, 2016. Once your school has send in the registration fee. Students are welcome to submit their photography to oursafespacesproject@gmail.com 

1. THE PHOTO.  Photos should ideally be:

  • black and white or colour for emphasis images
  • 300 dpi
  • 24 inches by 36 inches ratio
  • jpeg or TIFF format
  • In a word document, please include the following:
    • a paragraph, telling us about your photo, explaining your safe space.  
      Think of the five Ws: who, what, where, when, and why.
    • Include your name, age, and grade
    • Include the name of your school and teacher

2. A SIGNED RELEASE FORM.

This will be emailed out to teachers after registration. What's that? A signed release form tells us you are giving the CIS/CAIS and Contact Photography Festival permission to use your photograph.

Who signs it? You, the photographer and anyone in your picture.

3. OWNERSHIP AND COPYRIGHT

The photographer retains the ownership and copyright on their image, with the understanding that CIS and CAIS may use the image for non-commercial purposes in connection with ‘Our Safe Spaces Project’.
